Pumpkin Carving
Carve on a stable, flat surface with good lighting
Have younger children draw on pumpkin and have an adult do the carving
Consider decorating pumpkins with paint, markers or pumpkin decorating kits
Keep lit pumpkins away from anything flammable
Trick or Treating
Travel in groups with a trusted adult
Use reflective tape on costumes and carry a flashlight
Walk on sidewalks whenever possible
Avoid candles or luminaries
Go only to well-lit houses
Stay on porch and never enter houses
Never take rides from strangers
